Abstract
Positive geometry is an emerging field of applied mathematics motivated by recent developments in theoretical particle physics and cosmology. At its core lies the idea of associating a canonical differential form to a distinguished semi-algebraic set, encoding its boundary structure in an algebraic object. In physics, integrating these forms gives rise to important observables, including scattering amplitudes and cosmological correlators.I will introduce the main ideas of positive geometry through a series of examples, ranging from convex polytopes and lines on a cubic surface to positive geometries on a Klein bottle.
